As we celebrate the National Volunteers Month every month of December with the theme “Volunteer Now: Spark Hope, Create Solutions and Respond to Pandemic Challenges”. DENR Central Visayas always recognizes the vital role of volunteers for the environment. The importance of partnership of other national government agencies (NGAs), non-government organizations (NGOs), peoples' organizations (Pos), academe/schools, youth organizations/students/sectors, the private and various stakeholders who always volunteers during environment and natural resources (ENR) events and celebrations.

DENR Region VII also extends our heartfelt gratitude to all those who participated in the clean-up, tree/mangrove planting and in all other environmental activities to address climate change mitigation and adaptation conducted by the department for the year 2022. And to those who signed and sealed a commitment and partnership with DENR-7 through a memorandum of agreement/understanding (MOA/MOU) to share responsibility as stewards of Mother Earth.

Regional Executive Director Paquito C. Melicor, Jr. said, “We, in the DENR Central Visayas thank you for the Bayanihan spirit in the protection and conservation of our natural resources you have shown. The commitment and collaboration during the clean-up of rivers and esteros, the rescue of wildlife, coastal clean-up and the information, education and communication (IEC) initiatives shared among the citizenry would surely encourage more volunteers in the future. Thank you, environmental volunteers and have a joyful new year”.
