DENR7 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) Consultation

CENRO Cebu City gathered 30 partner stakeholders for the third (3rd) leg of the DENR7 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) Consultation held in Mandaue City, Cebu.

The conduct of consultation is in relation to the FY 2024 budget proposal on ongoing and new spending projects and activities pursuant to National Budget Memorandum No.145 dated 12 January 2023 or the National Budget Call for FY 2024.

The CSOs were divided into 9 groups working on the 9 nature-based approach programs of DENR in line with Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo Loyzaga’s nature based solution approach: forest management and protection, protected area management, biodiversity resources conservation, coastal and marine environment management, water resource management, air and water quality improvement, waste management, mineral resources development, and lands management.

The CSO consultation attended by the People’s organization, Non-Government Organizations, Academe, Business sector, Religious group, National Government Agencies, and Local Government Units shall come up with a statement of inputs that may include inputs/ comments/ recommendations of the CSOs on agency ongoing and/or new spending/expansion programs, projects, and activities as to: (1)relevance, (2)strategy and delivery, (3)performance management, (4)costing, (5) monitoring and evaluation, (6) accountability structure, (7) and risk management.
