24th TSPS Anniversary

In celebration of the 24th Tañon Strait Protected Seascape Anniversary, a program was held at Asturias Beach House and graced by the DENR7 Regional Executive Director Paquito D. Melicor, Jr, Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services Charlie E. Fabre, PENR Officer of Cebu Jose Cleo Cary F. Colis, OIC CENR Officer of Ayungon, Negros Oriental Concordio Remoroza, CENR Officer of Bago City, Negros Occidental Joan Nathaniel F. Gerangaya, and Cebu 3rd District Board Member John Ismael Borgonia.

RED Paquito D. Melicor, Jr., in his speech, emphasized the importance of the Tañon Strait Protected Seascape as a marine protected area in safeguarding biodiversity. He urged everyone that the protection of this seascape cannot be done by DENR alone. DENR needs the help of everyone - the locals, academe, LGUs, NGOs.
