CENRO Argao joins Coastal Clean-up 2022

As we celebrate the World Bamboo Day today, a joint Bamboo planting activity with DENR PENRO Bohol and CENRO Tagbilaran City in coordination with our ENGP partner PO Sta. Catalina Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries, Sagbayan, Bohol.
The activity was actively participated by 60 individuals including DENR personnel, BLGU, religious group and People's Organization.
A total of 300 bamboo planting materials were planted covering 1.5 hectares area developed. The activity highlights the increasing awareness and importance of Bamboo towards the environment and the community.
In celebration of the World Ocean Day - June 8, 2022, the theme for this year is “Revitalization: Collective Action for the Ocean.”
Tañon Strait Protected Seascape (TSPS) together with the Santa Cruz and Immaculate Conception Parish Youth Coordinating Council in Brgy. Matab-ang, Toledo City. Santa Cruz Parish Youth Coordinating Council conducted information, education and communication (IEC) on the history and some important facts about TSPS as the largest marine protected area in the Philippines.
PENRO Siquijor headed by PENR Officer Laurentino Bautista conducted a webinar on Empowering Women and Men on Gender-Responsive Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation in line with the National Gender and Development Focal Point System (NGADFPS), through the Gender and Development (GAD) Office.
The activity was attended by four People's Organization Members (Balolang Farmer's Association, Cangomantong Upland Planters Association, Tagmanocan Farmers Association, CASAMA), one BDRRMO of Brgy. Balolang, Larena, Siquijor, one LDRRMO, seven DENR Personnel on October 5, 2021 at PENRO-Siquijor.
Given the urgency and rapid pace of climate change, there is a need for new strategies for effecting behavior change. Appealing to people’s emotions, leveraging social norms, and the like are potential paths for the more sustainable use of natural resources and curbing climate change impacts, hence this training.
The National Gender and Development Focal Point System (NGADFPS), through the Gender and Development (GAD) Office conducts a virtual learning event on Empowering Women and Men on Gender-responsive Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation in Dumaguete City.
The virtual learning event was attended by the women and men personnel of DENR Negros Oriental together with Negros Oriental Provincial GAD coordinator Josefina Columna, Provincial DRRMO, and youth representatives from LGU Bais City.
