RED Turn Over

Paquito D. Melicor, Jr officially assumed post as the new DENR 7 Regional Executive Director after the turn-over rites held last July 3, 2019 at DENR 7 Compound, Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City.

Outgoing DENR 7 RED Engr. Gilbert Gonzales who served DENR Central Visayas for one year and six months is now appointed as DENR Assistant Secretary for South Luzon in concurrent capacity as the Regional Executive Director of CALABARZON Region.

The turnover rites was officiated by Undersecretary for Field Operations USec Juan Miguel Cuna and Assistant Secretary for the Visayas ASec Marcial Amaro assisted by DENR 7 ARD for Technical Services ARD Eduardo Inting and Management Services ARD Trinidad Etulle.

DENR Undersecretary for Enforcement and Muslim Affairs Jim Sampulna meet with the officials of DENR Region 7

"Implementation of environmental laws needs the support from other national government agencies, local government units, stakeholders and other partners. For DENR, we seek to organize an environmental body in the Regional, PENRO and CENRO offices who will serve as the front line in the protection of our environment natural resources," USEC Jim said during his brief visit in the DENR Regional Office 7.

He also tasked the DENR 7 Enforcement Division Chief Viernov Grefalde to initiate the formation of the regional body by inviting and collaborating with partner enforcement agencies such as PNP, Coast Guards, AFP including the local government units, private groups, people's organizations and the media people to address smuggling of wildlife species and other environmental crimes in the region.

"This will strengthen our efforts in the protection of our natural resources and with this initiative, we have high hopes that this would intensify our actions against environmental law violators. We will work alongside with our partners to effect the implementation of all environmental laws," RED Melicor added.

As of today, UFTPAI native coffee is now marketed in Ubay and all other neighboring municipalities in Bohol.

Nature’s Mystic Beauty. Lamanoc Island, Anda, Bohol. A newly discovered ecotourism destination in Bohol and is part of the Candijay-Anda-Mabini Mangrove Swamp Forest Reserve and Wilderness Area, a protected area managed by the DENR.
