DENR-7 PENRO Siquijor fast track Rapid Land Tenure (RLT)

DENR-PENRO Siquijor recently gathered more than 50 lot claimants and beneficiaries in Barangay San Antonio, Siquijor, Siquijor for a barangay assembly to present the Consolidated Cadastral Map (CCM) and encourage them to apply a title for the lands they own.

Spearheaded by Mr. Pepito B. Dimalig, Land Management Officer II of DENR PENRO Siquijor, the said assembly is part of the information, education and communication (IEC) campaign conducted by the office to speed up issuance of public land titles in the province.

"In order to fast track the implementation of Rapid Land Tenure (RLT), our team conducts community visits to encourage land owners to apply for a title. In Barangay San Antonio, we were able to assist around 10 potential residential lot claimants, we asked them to provide the needed requirements and submit to our office for processing," said Dimalig.

Patent issuance and distribution is one of the priority programs of the DENR that is geared towards a more improved land administration and management in the country and provide stronger support to the local government units by boosting their land revenue collections.

In accordance to Republic Act No. 3844, otherwise known as the Agricultural Land Reform Code, the DENR is primary responsible for the distribution and land disposition through the issuance of free patents or homestead patents for public agricultural A and D lands.

On the other hand, issuance of patents for residential lands is in line with the implementation of Republic Act 10023, or the New Free Patent Act, which provides the DENR to process a free patent title application to any Filipino citizen who is an actual occupant of a residential land.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) 7 received today one electric vehicle and a quick charging station from Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) in an official turn-over ceremony at DENR 7 Compound, National Government Center, Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City.

According to DENR 7 Regional Director Gilbert C. Gonzales, the i-MiEV electric vehicle and quick charging station handed over to DENR 7 are part of the donation made by MMPC to DENR last June 2017 wherein five units of Outlander PHEV, five units of i-MiEV and four units of EV quick charging stations were delivered to DENR Central Office.

The donation is a product of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by the DENR and MMPC for the joint conduct of a study on reducing carbon emissions and strengthened partnership on promoting clean energy and environmental protection and conservation in the country.

“We are very fortunate that DENR 7 together with the Davao Region were chosen to receive these electric vehicles and charging stations from MMPC. We will make a good use out of it in our daily operations and step up our efforts in convincing other national government agencies and private partners to invest in clean technology to reduce carbon emissions to the environment coming from the transportation sector,” added Gonzales.
